HOW WE DO IT

We are committed to the following in serving our clients:

  • Flexibility. We offer different types of short term or long-term arrangements depending on what best suits the client and the task at hand.
  • Suitable expertise. Our network of specialists enables us to adopt a collaborative approach in carrying out tasks where necessary.
  • Good interpersonal relations. As a result of our years of experience operating in the Caribbean, collaborating with international experts and working with international financial institutions, we have developed not only good interpersonal skills, but much goodwill that serves as a good foundation to carry out tasks assigned to us. We build on this during an assignment by:
    • Maintaining a good rapport with the client and keeping them up to date to facilitate their participation, early feedback, buy-in of, and support for, our conclusions and recommendations;
    • Conduct consultations with relevant stakeholders and members of the public at key points in the process to ensure that our recommendations take into consideration their perspectives and experience and have their support;
  • Modern techniques and innovative solutions. Drafting styles have changed substantially in modern times. The complicated technical language and complex writing styles have recently given way to a plain language approach. The advances in information and communications technology have modified the process of legislative drafting, altered the delivery of legislative drafting services, and made the result of international experience more accessible to small island states. LDS is young enough to have been nurtured on the modern drafting styles, and to be skilled in advances in information and communications technology. Nevertheless, its more than 14 years experience enables it to reflect maturely and pragmatically on legal problems and come up with innovative solutions.
